This camp introduces the basics of computer programing and robotics. Students will learn to program the mBot robot.
The camp covers essential robotics programming concepts as well as interactive activities, games, and peer collaboration.

Explorer Robotics Builder with mBot (Level II)

In this advanced robotics camp, students will spend time building, rebuilding, and testing their mBot robot in the field to sense the environment and navigate obstacles. Students will have the chance to transform their robots into a light-emitting cat one day and a Japanese sumo wrestler the next!
Students registering for this camp should have completed “Junior Robotics Builder with mBot (Level I)” or demonstrated comparable skills.

Be the Game Designer

Using Scratch, a programming platform geared towards children developed at MIT, and micro:Bit, participants will be the game designer. During the week, campers will learn about different game mechanics and how to build them in Scratch. They will also have the opportunity to develop a game remote to work with their Scratch game creations using the micro:Bit (microcontroller).
At the end of the week, they will have a remote that they take home with them and access to all their game creations (for campers who enrolled in the full 5-day program).

Robot Olympics

This camp provides a fun environment to expose participants to robotics, coding and design thinking. Each participant will build and program a radio-controlled robot using two micro:Bits, a microcontroller, and coding in JavaScript Block programming language. Then participants team up to design and build challenges.
At the end of the camp, each child will get to take home their remote control and robot. They can continue the adventure at home and tinker with the two sets of micro:Bits (for campers who enrolled in the full 5-day program).

Digital Photographer & Videographer

Kindergarten – 7th Grade
This camp will introduce to the art and the process of digital photography and filmmaking. Participants will develop their ideas exercising their creativity while learning the required skills and basic production concepts to make a short movie from start to finish including: writing a script, drawing storyboards, basic cinematography, shooting scenes, editing and adding sound effects.
At the end of the week, each student will have completed the production of a short movie about their vacations or a subject of their own choosing.
